UK disabled people’s online zine taps a ‘niche for positivity’


In March 2012 the UK’s Guardian reported that the founders of an online lifestyle magazine for disabled people think there’s a need for a feelgood factor.

Reporter Mary O’Hara spoke to Martyn Sibley and Srin Madipalli who have  launched the online lifestyle magazine for disabled people, Disability Horizons.

“The pair, both in their 20s,” she reported, “say they wanted to produce something ‘positive and inspiring’ that would depict the lives of disabled people as they actually were. They were especially keen to produce something that showed young disabled people ‘what it was possible to do with their lives,’ says Sibley.”
